HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/09/2013)(readMedia)-- At Final Convocation on April 25, Hampden-Sydney College senior Alexander Robert Boal received the James Madison Award, presented by Dr. Warner R. Winborne '88, Associate Professor of Government & Foreign Affairs. The James Madison Award is given to a political science major for outstanding scholastic achievement.
A Patrick Henry Scholar, Alex served as President of the German Club since Fall 2011. He is a member of the varsity swim team, varsity rugby, the International Club, the Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, and the honor society Phi Beta Kappa (academics). In the summer of 2012, he participated in the Virginia Program at Oxford. A foreign affairs major, Alex graduated from Chamblee High School and is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert K. Boal of Tucker.
