Alexander Pair Sign With Genesee Women's Soccer

BATAVIA, NY (03/17/2016)(readMedia)-- A pair of Alexander High School seniors recently committed to the GCC women's soccer program and will join the Cougars beginning in the fall. Jayna Wright and Karli Phillips signed a National Letter of Intent with Genesee and are now part of the 2016 recruiting class.

Wright, a defensive midfielder, was a team captain at AHS, a Genesee Region League all-star and an exceptional senior. Also a member of the basketball and track teams, Jayna is in the top 10 of her class and will study Liberal Arts at GCC.

Phillips will join the Cougars' defensive unit as a center back. Also a member of the AHS basketball and softball teams, Karli is in the top 10 of her graduating class. She was a team captain of the soccer team and an exceptional senior. Phillips will study Liberal Arts at GCC.

Genesee advanced to the NJCAA Region III Semifinals in 2015 and finished the season with an 11-6 overall record.

Genesee Community College athletics program endeavors to provide a quality and competitive intercollegiate athletics program consistent with the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) philosophy and the overall educational mission of Genesee Community College.
