CHESTERTOWN, MD (03/20/2014)(readMedia)-- Washington College is pleased to announce the recent induction of Alicia DeBonis '14 of Middletown, DE, into Phi Beta Kappa. Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest and most elite honor society in the United States. The society serves to recognize the power of a liberal arts education by acknowledging students that have achieved high levels of intellectual discipline and achievement.

DeBonis is majoring in sociology and minoring in justice, law, and society. She is also receiving a concentration in social welfare.

Founded in 1782 under the patronage of George Washington, Washington College is a private, independent college of liberal arts and sciences located in colonial Chestertown on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
