HAMDEN, CT (10/29/2009)(readMedia)-- Brian Jacobson of Allendale, N.J., a junior in the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University, has been appointed to the Northeast Regional Leadership Team for the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA).
"This is a very proud moment for the Office of Student Leadership and Leadership Development at Quinnipiac University, said John Stinchon, assistant director of Student Center & Leadership Development, "The work he has put into his positions at Quinnipiac and the volunteering he has taken on at the conference has afforded him this opportunity. From everyone in the office, we are very proud of him to have achieved such an important position with the NACA organization."
Jacobson said, "I am so happy to have been selected for the 2010 NACA Northeastern Conference. I became involved in QU After Dark my first semester and later joined the Student Programming Board. Because of my leadership roles within both organizations, I was afforded the opportunity to attend two NACA conferences."
Every year, Quinnipiac's Student Programming Board sends a delegation to the regional and national conference of NACA. Students attend educational sessions about programming, leadership, time management and many other developmental topics to enhance their leadership skills and the Student Programming Board's impact on the campus. As a part of the Northeast Regional Leadership Team, Jacobson will interact with several other student leaders and staff members from other schools in the Northeast showcasing the strength of Quinnipiac's leadership program.
The National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) advances campus activities in higher education through a business and learning partnership, creating educational and business opportunities for its school and professional members. Established in 1960 to help increase the buying power of campus programming dollars, NACA now has more than 1,000 college and university members and close to 650 associate members who represent artists, lecturers and performers.
Today, NACA offers a wide variety of events, educational institutes, publications and networking opportunities for colleges and universities across the country. The Association's programs focus on program planning, risk management, multicultural education, concert management, student and professional leadership development, student government and more.
