Allison Zellner of Millersburg receives HOBY Award

MILLERSVILLE, PA (04/21/2011)(readMedia)-- Allison Zellner of Millersburg, Pa., has been selected to receive the fall 2011 Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Fellowship Award. This award is given to a student who was a HOBY fellow and represented his or her high school at the HOBY Conference.

Zellner is attending Millersville University of Pennsylvania in the fall, where she will major in mathematics. She completed college preparatory classes, including Advanced Placement English, Spanish through level four and calculus at Millersburg High School. In addition to being selected to represent her school at the Hugh O'Brian Leadership Conference when she was in grade nine, Zellner was on the HOBY Team Alumni in 2010 and received the President's Volunteer Service Award in grade 11.

The Hugh O'Brian Youth Fellowship Award is given based on a student's class rank, SAT scores and representation as a HOBY fellow. It is a renewable award of $1,000 per year, in the amount of $500 each semester for up to eight semesters as long as the student makes normal academic progress.
