Ally Krus of St. Louis named NAIA Volleyball Athlete of the Week

ST. LOUIS, MO (10/19/2012)(readMedia)-- Missouri Baptist volleyball setter Ally Krus was named the NAIA National Player of the Week after leading the Spartans to a 5-1 record against some of the top teams in the NAIA last week.

Krus is a freshman from St. Louis, Mo., who graduated from Lindbergh High School and is majoring in elementary education.

The NAIA made the official announcement on Tuesday, making Krus the only Missouri Baptist University player to win the award this season and the third to win the award from the American Midwest Conference this year.

Krus has been steadily one of the best setters in the NAIA this season. She posted three, 50+ assist matches in the past week and is currently ranked 4th in the NAIA in assists per game, averaging 11.37.

Krus was also named the AMC Volleyball Player of the Week for the first time this season.
