Allyssa Burby Receives Western New England College Honor Graduate in Psychology Award

SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Allyssa M. Burby of Indian Orchard received the Honor Graduate in Psychology Award during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England College. The Honor Graduate award is presented to the graduating senior in Psychology who demonstrates the highest ideals by virtue of academic performance, contribution, service, and commitment to the field. Amanda Karsten, assistant professor of Psychology, presented the award, praising Burby as "a conscientious model for her peers and an asset to the teachers and staff" for her work with students on the autism spectrum.

Graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts, Burby is a member of the Psi Chi, Mortar Board, and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies. This fall, Burby will pursue a master's degree in the Applied Behavior Analysis program at Western New England.
