Alvin George Thomas Elected to Omicron Delta Kappa at Washington and Lee University

LEXINGTON, VA (01/24/2013)(readMedia)-- Alvin George Thomas of Skokie, Ill., a junior at Washington and Lee University, has been elected to Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership fraternity for men and women.

Thomas was "tapped" during the annual Founder's Day/ODK Convocation at W&L on Friday, Jan. 18.

Thomas, a chemistry and engineering major, is a Johnson Scholar, a Levy Neuroscience Research Scholar and a member of Beta Beta Beta honor society for students of the biosciences. A Bonner Scholar, he serves on the leadership team of Campus Kitchen and as a trip coordinator for Volunteer Venture. Thomas is alternative breaks chair for the Nabors Service League, a student justice on the Univerity Board of Appeals and a small group leader in the Generals' Christian Fellowship. He serves as vice president and philanthropy chair of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Founded at Washington and Lee in 1914, Omicron Delta Kappa recognizes superior leadership among students in various aspects of campus and community life.
