Alycia A. Franks Receives D. Luke and Elva W. Biemesderfer Scholarship

MILLERSVILLE, PA (05/04/2011)(readMedia)-- Alycia A. Franks, of Gilbertsville, Pa., has been selected to receive the D. Luke and Elva W. Biemesderfer Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman at Millersville University of Pennsylvania.

Franks will attend Millersville this fall and will major in Spanish. She completed a college preparatory program including several courses at the honors and Advanced Placement level, studying Spanish through level four, while enrolled at Boyertown High School. Franks was also a member of the National Honors Society, Future Business Leaders of America and Future Teachers' Association.

The D. Luke and Elva W. Biemesderfer Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshmen based on excellence in scholarship and leadership potential, majoring in foreign language. It is a non-renewable award, in the amount of $912 to be credited on the spring 2012 bill.
