Alyssa Pechin of The College of New Rochelle Makes All-Tournament Team

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (12/05/2011)(readMedia)-- The College of New Rochelle women's basketball team faced off against Berkeley College of New York in the 18th Annual Dr. Betty Shabazz Basketball Tournament championship game played Sunday afternoon, December 4, 2011. The game was high scoring affair with Berkeley defeating CNR 80-60.

CNR was led by their two talented freshmen Tra'Leassa King and Alyssa Pechin. King recorded 17 points and 12 rebounds for her second career double-double and Alyssa Pechin earned All-Tournament recognition after scoring 43 total points in the two days of the tournament, including 27 points in the championship game.

Both freshmen at CNR--Tra'Leassa King and Alyssa Pechin--are from Yonkers, New York, and both attended Our Lady of Victory Academy in Dobbs Ferry.

The Blue Angels, now 4-4, play their next home game against Berkeley College on December 12, 2011 at 7 p.m. in the Wellness Center on the Main Campus.
