WHITTER, CA (11/21/2012)(readMedia)-- Whittier College senior Alyssa Sialaris has been announced by The Southern California Athletic Conference to receive 2nd Team honors for Women's Volleyball. This is her second year in a row receiving All-SCIAC honors. She has also been announced as SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week. In Addition, she holds the Whittier College kills record and was placed within the top five in Division III for kills per set.
Alyssa Sialaris is from San Jose, California and transferred to Whittier College from De Anza Junior College. She plays as an outside hitter and began playing Volleyball at the age of six.
Poets where held up on top for their season with great help from Alyssa Sialaris' kills, blocks, and digs. She contributed 25 blocks, 229 digs, and at total of 435 kills on 1,108 attempts. In a game against La Verne she had 14 kills and 7digs, against Cal Lutheran 26 kills and 23 digs, and against Pomona-Pitzer she had 30 kills and 14 digs. This brings her to be 2nd in the country in kills per set.
