ROCHESTER, NY (09/29/2009)(readMedia)-- Nazareth College is proud to announce that Lisa Durant-Jones has been selected as an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Diversity Champion for 2009. Her achievements in advancing multicultural infusion in the training of Nazareth professionals and delivery of services will be recognized at the 40th anniversary celebration at this year's Multicultural Concerns Collective Meeting at the ASHA Convention in New Orleans, LA on November 19.
The ASHA was established in 1925 and currently has over 130,000 members. It is the nation's leading professional, credentialing, and scientific organization for speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech/language/hearing scientists, and has been the guardian of these professions for over 75 years. Their mission is to empower, support, and initiate the development of national standards for audiologists and speech, language, and hearing scientists.
Founded in 1924, Nazareth College is a coeducational college with undergraduate and graduate studies in the liberal arts and sciences and professional programs in health and human services, education, and management.
