HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (03/28/2012)(readMedia)-- J. Andrew Craver, Jr., a junior at Hampden-Sydney College, has been elected for a second year to be General Manager of the student-operated radio station WWHS-FM 92.1. Founded in 1972 and operating from the historic Carriage House, the station broadcasts at 10 watts, reaching the Hampden-Sydney campus and central Prince Edward County.
Andrew, a religion and English major, served as General Manager of radio station this year and previously as a DJ at the station. He is Chairman of the Board of Publications and is a Resident Advisor. He is a member of the varsity cross country team, the ROTC program, and the honorary society Omicron Delta Kappa (leadership). Andrew is a graduate of Forbush High School and is the son of John & Vicki Craver of East Bend.
A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the needs of young men.
