Annual Parade to Kick-Off 2018 Iowa State Fair

Delbert Routh selected as Parade Marshal

DES MOINES, IA (08/08/2018) (readMedia)-- The 2018 Iowa State Fair Parade serves as the kick- off to the 2018 Iowa State Fair. Delbert Routh from Diagonal, Iowa will serve as the 2018 Parade Marshal and will lead the parade through the streets of downtown Des Moines.

Delbert started coming to the Fair as a child and has been involved as a vendor, sponsor, volunteer and friend of the Fair. He has spent countless hours in the livestock barns and played a significant role in the Clearfield Lions, the State Fair parades and Super Bull contests to name a few. Delbert and his wife, Bernadine, have 2 daughters who grew up at the Iowa State Fair and have countless wonderful memories with their Dad at the Fair.

The parade will travel from the Capitol down Grand Avenue and end at 13th Street near the Pappajohn Sculpture Park.

IPTV will live broadcast the Iowa State Fair Parade tonight starting at 6:15 p.m. statewide as well as on Facebook.
