BIRMINGHAM, AL (05/09/2013)(readMedia)-- Ar'Shundra Hampton of Montgomery, daughter of Tandra Brown and Erick Shelton, was chosen for a prestigious National Science Foundation-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala. for the summer of 2013. The REU supports interdisciplinary research in a diverse Appalachian ridge and valley ecosystem. Ar'Shundra will conduct research with Dr. Denise Gregory of the department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Ar'Shundra is a graduate of Carver Senior High School and currently attends Miles College.
