Army Guard Civil Support Team Holds Change of Command Ceremony

AUGUSTA, ME (05/23/2012)(readMedia)-- The Maine Army National Guard's 11th Civil Support Team (CST) in Waterville held a change of command ceremony on May 18th, 2012. The outgoing Commander Lt. Col. Herbert J. Brock of Winslow passed the responsibilities of command to Maj. Darryl Lyon of Bangor.

A previous member of the 11th CST, Maj. Lyons returns to the team as Commander after having completed other assignments within the Maine Army National Guard. Lt. Col. Brock leaves the team after four years of successful command and will be assigned to Joint Forces Headquarters in Augusta.

The mission of the Team is to support civilian authorities during domestic chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or explosive incidents. The team also supports civil authorities with pre-incident planning and training.
