Background:
Occupying a space between painting and sculpture, the works of Emily Kenas employ natural, figurative and other found materials to transcend conscious intention and make coherent images from the irrational juxtaposition of disparate parts. Emily's efforts to make new sense of these materials remain a constant theme in her exhibition.
On display from November 13 - December 14, 2018 at the Roz Steiner Art Gallery, "Assemblage" will feature works ranging from wall reliefs to freestanding constructions.
Emily earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University and has held several residencies at Millay Colony, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA.
The Roz Steiner Art Gallery is open to the public Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The gallery is also open during special events as published at www.genesee.edu/campuslife/arts.
