"Artsoiree," A New Brand of Benefit for Berkshire Country Day School Financial Aid

LENOX, MA (04/19/2011)(readMedia)-- On Saturday, May 7, a new trend in fundraising will be launched in the famously elegant fieldstone post-and-beam barn of Stonover Farm in Lenox to benefit the Financial Aid Fund at Berkshire Country Day School.

The first annual "ArtSoiree: A Celebration of the Arts," chaired by Donna Kittredge and Marianna Poutasse, will be a festive celebratory evening of fine art & music, including Brazilian Jazz & exhilarating up-tempo "Gypsy Jazz," fine food, drink, & desserts, a silent & live auction featuring the art of premiere artists, as well as many additional offerings.

Over 25 percent of BCD families receive some financial aid. Berkshire Country Day School takes pride in its inclusive community, its economic diversity and its strong academic program. The message from Head of School Paul Lindenmaier is clear and embraced by the entire BCD community: "Financial Aid benefits everyone in the BCD community, not only those that receive assistance."

The evening will open at 5:30 pm with private cocktail reception for underwriters, patrons and sponsors, with food provided by Mission Restaurant and live Brazilian jazz. Doors will open to the public at 6:30 pm. There will be food by Marketplace, signature cocktails graciously underwritten by Berkshire Mountain Distillers (BCD parent Chris Weld), and music by BCD's own Jon Suters and his fellow musicians.

A silent auction of more than 80 items will include one of a kind works by noted artists Maggie Mailer, Douglass Truth, Crispina ffrench, Kevin Sprague, Cynthia Wick, Charles Thomas O'Neil, Paula Shalan, Scott Taylor, Michele O'Hana, and many others. The live auction will include such items as VIP tickets to the sold out James Taylor concert on July 3rd at Tanglewood.

Tickets to ArtSoiree are $75, and include open bar, desserts and hors d'ouevres. To purchase tickets or for more information please contact Joanne DelCarpine at Berkshire Country Day School at (413) 637-0755 x22 or visit www.berkshirecountryday.org.
