Ashley N. Ciortan receives Andrew and Clara Kissh Academic Scholarship

MILLERSVILLE, PA (04/28/2011)(readMedia)-- Ashley N. Ciortan of Palmyra, Pa. has been selected to receive the Andrew and Clara Kissh Academic Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman at Millersville University of Pennsylvania.

Ciortan will attend Millersville this fall and will major in middle level English education. She completed a college preparatory program including several courses at the honors and Advanced Placement level while enrolled at Palmyra Area High School. Ciortan was also involved in numerous musical groups and theatre productions. She also participated in National Honors Society, field hockey, track and the Susquehanna Youth Chorale.

The Andrew and Clara Kissh Academic Scholarship is awarded to a student based on high school academic performance. It is a renewable award, as long as the recipient maintains good academic standing, in the amount of $3,695 per year.
