Author Amber Madison to Talk About Sexual and Relationship Health
LVC HEALTH Colloquium Presentation to be held Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. in Leedy Theater
Amber Madison, author of Hooking Up and Talking Sex with Your Kids leads a program for all teens, college students, and faculty that is hilarious, uninhibited, and full of must-have knowledge about safer sex and sexuality. The presentation, scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. in Leedy Theater of the Mund College Center, is part of Lebanon Valley College's HEALTH Colloquium. Admission is free and open to the public.
Madison's program, titled "Sexual and Relationship Health: A Hilarious and Informative Program for College Students and the Faculty that Support Them," will straddle both sides of the fence and provide frank answers to all the questions young adults are afraid to ask.
A 2005 community health and American studies graduate of Tufts University, Madison published "Hooking Up: A Girl's All-Out Guide to Sex and Sexuality" in 2006. She has since traveled the country speaking with teens and adults and sex and relationships. She was awarded a sexual health communication award from Choice USA in 2008. Madison published her second book, "Talking Sex With Your Kids: Keeping Them Safe, and You Sane-By Knowing What They're Really Thinking," earlier this year.
Madison has contributed to Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Men's Health, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, and USA Today, and has appeared on The Today Show, MTV News and NPR. She has written about sex for Glamour Magazine, and is the sex expert for BettyConfidential.com.
HEALTH is a year-long integrated series of guest speakers and films that highlight and inform the various factors involved in society's consideration of its health policy. It will involve discussions on the politics of health care reform, sickness, aging, fitness, mental and eating disorders, and spiritual well-being involving thinkers and speakers from the sciences, arts, and public policy.
