BCD Senior Graduation Ceremony to be held June 8

Mary Marcy, Provost & Vice President of Simon’s Rock College of Bard, to be commencement speaker

LENOX, MA (05/31/2007)(readMedia)-- Berkshire Country Day, an independent school serving pre-school through secondary grades, will be holding high school graduation ceremonies on Friday, June 8, 2007 on its Winthrop Campus in Lenox, MA, starting at 4:00 p.m.

Mary Marcy, Provost of Simon’s Rock College of Bard in Great Barrington, MA and a Vice President at Bard College, will be this year’s commencement speaker. As the head of Simon’s Rock, she leads the nation’s only four year residential undergraduate early college dedicated to the liberal arts.

ABOUT MARY MARCY

Mary B. Marcy is Provost of Bard College at Simon’s Rock, and a Vice President at Bard College. As the head of Simon’s Rock, she leads the nation’s only four year residential undergraduate early college dedicated to the liberal arts. Prior to her arrival at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, Marcy led Antioch University’s Project on the Future of Higher Education, a national, grant-funded project exploring the issues of cost and quality in American undergraduate education. She served as the first Dean of University Relations at the Seattle campus of Antioch, and was the Executive Assistant to the President at Western Washington University. Marcy holds a Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Philosophy in Politics from Oxford University, and received her Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
