BCD Student Film Festival, May 18 & 19
Nine short films to be showcased
LENOX, MA (05/07/2007)(readMedia)-- Berkshire Country Day, an independent school serving pre-school through secondary grades, will be showcasing nine short films written, directed, acted and produced by Berkshire Country Day School’s high school students on May 18 and 19, 2007 at the school’s Winthrop Campus in Lenox, Massachusetts at 7:00 p.m. at the Winthrop Theatre.
The Ensemble Theatre Arts (ETA) Film Festival, open to the public, showcases student works from the school’s Digital Film program under the direction of Jesse P. Howard, BCD’s director of theatre and digital film.
Wish, the film festival’s centerpiece production, written by BCD senior Jane Burns (Lee, Massachusetts) and produced by the entire Ensemble Theatre Arts program, tells the story of six woebegone teens trapped in Saturday detention.
Other short films making a debut at the film festival include: • “Lifetrack,” written and directed by Nick Feder (11th grade, Austerlitz, NY) • “No. 700,” written and directed by Tom Ciaburri (11th grade, Hinsdale, MA) • “The Forgot-Box,” written and directed by Annalise Clausen (11th grade, Great Barrington, MA) • “The First Goodbye,” written and directed by Carlos Kaufman (12th grade, Dalton, MA) • “Just Another Day,” written and directed by Mike Ryan (12th grade, Great Barrington, MA) • “Last Impression,” written and directed by Andrew Boyce (11th grade, Great Barrington, MA) • “The Family Plan,” a fully collaborative effort between students and adults, written and shot in one day on location while on a school theatre and film trip to Seattle, Washington. • “The Making of Wish,” a documentary on the making of the festival’s featured short film, Wish, directed by Jane Burns (12th grade, Lee, MA) and Clemens Knieper (11th grade, Lenox, MA)
