NEW LONDON, CT (05/13/2010)(readMedia)-- Benjamin Schachtel, a freshman at Connecticut College, has been elected vice president of the sophomore class for the 2010-2011 academic year.
As vice president, Schachtel is responsible for helping the president coordinate social functions for the class, represent the class to administrators and faculty and provide class representation on committees and at campus events.
Schachtel, a 2009 graduate of Friends School of Baltimore, is the son of Bruce and Marsha Schachtel of Baltimore.
The Connecticut College Student Government Association considers issues and formulates policies in areas primarily or exclusively involving the student body at Connecticut College and seeks to extend channels of communication, increase areas of cooperation and foster a greater acceptance of shared responsibility between faculty, administration and students.
