Senior Michael Habegger was honored today with the Richard W. Moellering Senior Barnabas Award. Established by the Class of 1986, the award recognizes a senior who exemplifies encouragement and servanthood.
Barnabas was a missionary and co-worker of St. Paul. His name means "encourager." His ministry in life was to be of service to his fellow man.
One nominator wrote: "Michael has a magnetic personality which helps him instill a sense of community in each group in which he takes part. He is a natural servant, volunteering in any way, and always following through with the commitment he makes."
Ten students in all were nominated for this award by the student body and faculty and staff. A committee of four faculty members and four seniors made the final selection. Habegger was nominated along with nine other seniors, Ben Corley, Rachel Geller, Ben Gerig, Ellie Hellinger, Lainey Linnemeier, Anna Maxson, Katie McKay, and Hope Stephenson.
