The Rockford University men's soccer program had a pair of players honored by the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference when it released its weekly awards on Thursday morning. Maverick Attwood was selected as the NACC Men's Soccer South Division Defensive Player of the Week and Baruani Kamangila was chosen as the NACC Men's Soccer South Division Offensive Player of the Week. This is the first NACC weekly award for both Attwood and Kamangila and is Rockford's first NACC Men's Soccer Player of the Week award since 2018 (Anthony Beck).
Baruani Kamangila scored his first collegiate goal last week against Benedictine. Kamangila's goal came with just 0.7 seconds left in regulation and sent the match into overtime. The match between the Regents and Eagles would eventually end in a 1-1 tie after double overtime.
The RU men's soccer team travels to Benedictine University on Sunday, April 11. The match has a scheduled start time of 1:00 PM.
