Becker College is proud to announce tthe presentation of the Samuel May Award.
The Samuel May Award is presented to an outstanding student of the graduating class - one who has shown scholastic achievement, excellence in character, personality, and leadership throughout their years at Becker. This award was established in memory of the Reverend Samuel May by his grandson, Herbert Samuel May. The Reverend Samuel May was the first minister of the Unitarian Church in Leicester and he served as a trustee of Leicester Academy for twenty-five years. Reverend May took an active part in the Abolition Movement and was widely recognized for his leadership as General Agent of the Massachusetts Anti-Slavery Society.
Founded in 1784, Becker College is an undergraduate and graduate, career-focused private college, providing a supportive and inclusive learning community that prepares graduates for their first to last careers.
