Berkshire Country Day School Open House April 4, 2017
LENOX/STOCKBRIDGE, MA (03/13/2017) (readMedia)-- Berkshire Country Day, a Preschool through Grade 9 independent school, will host an on-campus information session for parents and caregivers on Tuesday, April 4, from 9:00 to 11:00 am. The school is located at 55 Interlaken Road (Route 183) in Stockbridge, MA. Registration is encouraged: www.berkshirecountryday.org/events.
Berkshire Country Day School's Open Houses are designed for families interested in learning more about BCD's intentional approach that blends proven methods with emerging best practices in teaching and learning. From Preschool through 9th Grade, Berkshire Country Day School offers a multi-year experience in connecting the dots- from grade to grade, among individual areas of study, and between what students learn in school and what they see in the real world. The school's expansive arts and experiential learning opportunities nurture creativity, collaboration, and confidence in students at all grade levels.
Visiting parents will have the opportunity to chat with current parents, see students in action, tour the 27-acre campus and classroom buildings, meet members of the faculty and administration, and hear more about the School's comprehensive curriculum and co-curricular programs that emphasize academics, the arts, and athletics. Additionally, families can learn about the school's afterschool enrichment programs, extended-day options, bus transportation, and new facilities, the Kim and James Taylor Music/Performance Room and the Kevin Hirt Library and Learning Commons.
The school recently launched a number of new initiatives designed to make the Berkshire Country Day School experience available to a wider group of families throughout the region, including:
Two-Year-Old Program
The school is expanding its Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool program to include two-year-olds for the 2017-2018 school year. This program for children between 24-35 months will be led by experienced educators in a flexible classroom suite, and offers a variety of enrollment options. Berkshire Country Day School continues to offer Reggio Emilia preschool opportunities for children aged 3-years-old and 4-years-old, as they prepare for Kindergarten and beyond.
Expanded Transportation Offerings
In response to growing interest from families in Hudson and neighboring towns in Columbia County, the school is planning to offer a new bus route originating in Hudson, NY, and making a series of stops in Columbia County. This is in addition to current bus routes, including one from Great Barrington, MA, another from Pittsfield, MA, and several existing routes from Chatham, NY, and New Lebanon, NY.
