Berkshire Country Day School to host A Mod Soirée
LENOX/STOCKBRIDGE, MA (05/02/2017) (readMedia)-- On Saturday, May 6, Berkshire Country Day School will host its annual fundraiser, Soirée, to benefit the School's Financial Aid Program. This year's event, entitled "The Jet Age: A Mod Soirée," offers guests an atmospheric swanky lounge/Mid-Century-Modern-themed party, to be held on BCD's historic Stockbridge campus.
An emphasis has been made to showcase local vendors and talent. The evening includes light dinner fare catered by Mission, an open bar stocked with craft beer from Dalton's new Shire Breu Hous, and specialty cocktails with liquor provided by Berkshire Mountain Distillers served by mixologists Jane Burns '07 and Billy Jack Paul. The Berkshire Jazz Quartet will accompany the cocktail hour and DJ BFG will close out the evening with dancing following the silent and live auctions. Dessert is provided by No. Six Depot, Chocolate Springs, and Klara's Cookies, and décor is sponsored by rEvolve Furniture, Limelight, and Blue Q. There will also be two surprise special guests to complete the early 1960s vibe! The festive evening on Saturday, May 6, begins at 6 pm with a private reception for sponsors. Doors will open to all at 6:45 pm. Tickets are $85 and the event is open to the public.
The winner of a raffle for a Trip to Prague will be drawn at the event. The trip for 2 includes airfare and a week's accommodation in an apartment in the old city. Raffle tickets are $25 each or five for $100 and can be purchased until May 6 at biddingforgood.com/soiree2017. A maximum of 400 tickets will be sold.
Proxy bids are being accepted on high profile silent and live auction items offered at the event, which include a photo autographed by Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams, a Hands-On Cooking class followed by dinner for eight at Canyon Ranch, a ride in a 1960s convertible mod car followed by wine tasting and dinner for six at Wheatleigh, and more than 30 other items. Check biddingforgood.com/soiree2017 for all auction items.
Cultivating a nurturing, inclusive, economically-and-socially diverse community is part of BCD's mission; one out of every four students at the school receives financial aid. Soirée was started with the purpose of raising the funds necessary to support this mission, and since its inception in 2011, Soirée has raised over $360,000.
Berkshire Country Day School is located at 55 Interlaken Road, Stockbridge, MA. For event tickets, more information, or to place a proxy bid, visit biddingforgood.com/soiree2017 or contact Jessica Provenz at 413-637-0755, x 144.
