Binghamton Resident James Hauptfleisch to Be Inducted into the Suny Oswego Athletic Hall of Fame

OSWEGO, NY (10/18/2010)(readMedia)-- James Hauptfleisch of Binghamton will be inducted into the Oswego Athletic Hall of Fame at the 10th annual ceremony and dinner Oct. 30 in the Sheldon Hall ballroom on the SUNY Oswego campus.

Hauptfleisch, a 1977 SUNY Oswego graduate, will be recognized for his achievements in wrestling.

The 1977 All-American was a two-time state champion as a Laker. He won the SUNY Athletic Conference individual championship in 1975.

From 1972 to 1974, Hauptfleisch wrestled at SUNY Delhi, where he was named Athlete of the Year.

The Oswego Alumni Association established the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001 to honor players and coaches who made outstanding contributions to Oswego State athletics. Oswego graduates and former athletes Charles Wiltse, Robert Zabronsky, Eileen Sommers, Barry Dillon and Michael Snell also will be honored along with former Oswego employee Dick Johnson at this year's ceremony.
