LA MIRADA, CA (05/07/2014)(readMedia)-- Biola adds some length to its rotation with the commitment of a 6-foot-2-inch forward, Christiana Layne.

Layne averaged just over six points and eight rebounds per game at Lynwood High School, and she led her team to CIF section, regional and state championships as a junior.

"We are very proud to welcome Christiana to the Biola basketball program," said Head Coach Dr. Bethany Miller. "She will add rebounding presence and athleticism to our strong group of forwards."

Layne is set to enter Biola in the fall and will immediately join the Eagles when their season begins in October. She plans to study business and comes to the school with a reputation as an excellent student.

"Christiana has incredible work ethic and talent displayed both on the court and in her studies. She comes from a program with a tradition of success," said Miller.

Layne led the Knights to a 20-9 record in her final season, and she helped them go a perfect 10-0 in league play. She appeared in 24 games and was named all-league in the San Gabriel Valley League.
