Board of Trustee Member Tommy Valentine to speak at Sept. 24 convocation service

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (09/16/2014)(readMedia)-- Campbellsville University Board of Trustee Member Dr. Tommy Valentine of Danville, Ky. will present the convocation message on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 10:00 a.m. in Ransdell Chapel. The Chapel is located on 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville. The public is invited to attend.

Valentine is a 1987 graduate of the University of Louisville with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he completed his Master's in divinity in 1991 and his doctoral degree in 1994.

A member of the Academy of Homiletics and the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, Valentine is currently working on editing and publishing a sermon titled "Whispers in the Dark" from the 2014 National Festival of Young Preachers.

Valentine joined the staff of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church in October 1999. Previously, he served as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Prestonsburg, Ky. and Mill Creek Baptist Church in Bardstown, Ky.

He enjoys reading and playing golf. His wife, Jennifer, is an elementary school teacher. They have two children, David and Kate.
