MILLERSVILLE, PA (05/30/2014)(readMedia)-- Brandon S. Johnson, of Downingtown, Pa., has been selected to receive the Millersville University Alumni Association Legacy Award Scholarship. Johnson will graduate from Downingtown High School West and will attend Millersville University of Pennsylvania this fall to study environmental chemistry.
The Alumni Association Award is given to an incoming freshman who is the child or grandchild of a Millersville University alumnus who holds an associate, bachelor or master's degree from MU, and is graduating in the top 10 percent of their class with an outstanding record of extracurricular activities and demonstrated leadership. The scholarship is for $891.
Johnson, whose mother Christina graduated from Millersville in 1990, is a National Honors Society member, a member of both the jazz and marching bands, an honor roll student and a member of the Students Against Destructive Decisions group. Outside of school Johnson volunteered his time at the local Balloon Festival and spent time as a teacher for the Vacation Bible School St. Joseph Church in Downingtown.
