Break Bread and Save a Pets Life

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (11/19/2009)(readMedia)-- For 21 years The Capital District Humane Associates (CDHA) has been helping unwanted, neglected, and abused animals in the region, but only with the support of this wonderful community. A completely non-for profit, volunteer run organization, CDHA is approved by the ASPCA in NYC and is one of the most respected rescue organizations in the area. This group of volunteers is often the last hope for these animals and there will be no government bailout to help with this mission. As this country faces serious financial issues, more and more pet owners are abandoning their pets. Now more than ever, it is crucial that the animal loving community pull together to become advocates for these loving creatures who have no choices other than the ones we make for them.

CDHA is hosting a benefit brunch and silent auction to be held on December 6th at the Brunswick Greens Club House, Troy, NY, from 11 AM to 2 PM. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE EVENT WILL BE USED TO SUPPORT RESCUED ANIMALS. First and foremost, by attending the event and bidding on the great auction items we have generously obtained from area businesses and private donors. Tickets are $20 each. You can help even more by becoming a sponsor from a friend level, at $50, or a Diamond sponsor, at $250, or many levels in between. Gold and up include a table for 10 guests.

"The only way we can make this work and continue to rescue so many loving pets is with community support for events like this," Said Jennifer Politis, founder and President of CDHA.

We are also always looking for foster homes to temporarily house and feed our pets, Politis added, in addition, we need volunteers to help with adoption clinics, transport, fundraising, and many other ways."
