FLAGSTAFF, AZ (04/05/2013)(readMedia)-- Brett Baumgartner of Hillsboro, Oregon was selected to visit Mr. Warren Buffett at his office in Omaha, Nebraska. Brett is a senior at Northern Arizona University who works for the Intramural Sports department within Campus Recreation Services. Brett was selected as from a pool of 100 students from the W. A. Franke College of Business.
Buffett annually invites students from select universities to visit with him to speak with them about making and maintaining successful businesses. This year, NAU was one of a handful of schools in attendance and the selected students were the only undergraduates invited. While many schools are invited every few years, Mr. Buffett invites W. A. Franke Business students every year.
Students toured two of Buffett's businesses in Omaha and joined Buffett for lunch and dinner. Brett speaks of meeting the billionaire philanthropist, "All of us on the trip had really high expectations going into the trip, and he far surpassed all of them." For a business major like Brett, the trip was a great way to learn more about successful businesses and he hopes to carry what he learned into his future career.
