Brian Bessent Named a 2012 Outstanding Young Alumni at Hardin-Simmons

ABILENE, TX (03/07/2012)(readMedia)-- Brian Bessent of Abilene, Texas, has been named a 2012 Outstanding Young Alumni at Hardin-Simmons University.

Brian Bessent graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a Bachelor of Behavioral Science degree in speech-language pathology and audiology in 1996.

As director of Transitional and Post-Acute Services for Hendrick Health System in Abilene, Brian provides management for over 350 employees in the areas of adult and pediatric rehabilitation, long-term acute care, and hospice services.

Brian impacts patients and families at life's crossroads, providing healthcare services in a Christian setting where the focus is on healing the body as well as the spirit.

Brian is a part of Hendrick's future and strategic planning, working to make a difference in the future of healthcare. He became board-certified in 2010 and was named as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

In 1998 he earned an MS degree in speech-language pathology from University of North Texas. Brian and Sonja (Couch '97) have four children.
