Pearl Pierce Wins in Hardin-Simmons University Art Competition
ABILENE, TX (04/29/2014)(readMedia)-- Hardin-Simmons University students competed for bragging rights for best painting, photography, and sculpture during the annual student art competition.
Pearl Pierce of Midland, Texas, won Third Place in Graphic Design and an Honorable Mention.
Categories displayed at the Ira M. Taylor Memorial Art Gallery include 2D, 3D, graphic design, and photography.
Winners were announced April 10, 2014, during an awards reception in the Frost Center for the Visual Arts.
This year's guest judge was Katherine White, director of education, at the Grace Museum in downtown Abilene.
Art work may be viewed at the Ira M. Taylor Memorial Art Gallery, Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. or by appointment at 325-670-2223.

Ten graduate degrees, encompassing 26 programs, include the Doctor of Ministry, Doctor of Education in Leadership, and the Doctor of Physical Therapy.
