ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (05/02/2011)(readMedia)-- Brian Peter Tennyson, a resident of Ellicott City, Maryland, received the following awards at St. Mary's College of Maryland on April 30, 2011 at the annual Awards Convocation ceremony to recognize exceptional academic scholarship:
Dept. Award in Mathematics, Myron Marlay St. Mary's Project Award, and Dept. Award in Physics
Tennyson is a senior from Ellicott City, Maryland, majoring in physics and math. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Pi Sigma, and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies. He is president of the Math and Physics Club. He is a Nitze Scholar, a 2011 Maryland Collegiate Honors Council Portz Award recipient, a 2010 Jeanne Brocavich Scholarship recipient and a 2009 Putnam Prize recipient. Tennyson will be attending Yale University in the fall of 2011, to obtain his Ph.D. in physics.
