SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/03/2010)(readMedia)-- Brittany Decker of Bristol took home five awards during Western New England College's 8th annual Student Media Festival. Decker won first place in both the juried competition and the people's choice judging in the TV news reporting category; first place in the non-profit video category; and a second place jury award and third place people's choice award in the music video category. All five awards were for pieces Decker produced as the result of a trip she took to Cambodia to document a local nonprofit group's efforts to care for the poor. Decker is a senior majoring in Communication at the College.
The Student Media Festival was created to provide students a venue to display their works to fellow students, faculty, staff, and the public so that students can be recognized for their successes in creating quality films and videos over the past year.
