Bronx Resident Receives Spirit of the Founders Award from Dominican College
ORANGEBURG, NY (10/04/2012)(readMedia)-- On September 27, as part of Dominican College's Founders Week, Elsa Sanchez - a senior at the College - was presented with the Spirit of the Founders Award.
The Spirit of the Founders Awards are presented to 2 Dominican College students who represent a respect for the values and traditions that have endured for centuries and who hold the promise that the Dominican tradition will be carried on. The award also represents for its recipients, a strong belief in their potential as leaders. The recipients are men and women of great character, spirit, and action who have been recognized by their peers and the College community as embodying the Spirit of the Founders of the Dominican Order.
Elsa Sanchez has been the Co-President of Radio DC, has served as an RA, and has participated in Alternate Spring Break for two years, serving as a group leader for this trip in 2012. She Coordinated a prayer and peace vigil for the campus community in 2012. Elsa is a member of the Psi Chi National Honor Society for Psychology majors and is a recipient of the Hennessy Family Scholarship.
