Nyack Resident Presents Research at United Nations
ORANGEBURG, NY (01/24/2013)(readMedia)-- On January 18, at the Conference of the Committee on Teaching about the United Nations (CTAUN), Dominican College student, Anna Vorse of Nyack presented a research poster on poverty and social injustice.
This yearly conference is held at the United Nations in New York City. Its goal is incorporating global awareness into school curricula and the work of community organizations. In past years, the attendance at the conference has exceeded 800 participants and has included people from countries in Latin America, Europe, and Africa - as well as from the United States of America.
Anna and her colleague Maureen Fitzpatrick presented their poster during the Info Fair portion of the conference, during which UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, and others whose work connects with the conference theme present their work and research.
