Brookfield East High School takes third place at MSOE

MILWAUKEE, WI (12/12/2011)(readMedia)-- A team of students from Brookfield East High School in Brookfield, Wis., took third place in Milwaukee School of Engineering's annual "OP"portunity Science Conference. The team, "Team A," was coached by Kelly Kwiatkowski and Ben Westphal. The OP Conference gives high school students the opportunity to demonstrate excellence in academic pursuits. The competitions challenge the skills and abilities of students at all levels.

For the OP Science competition, teams of eight students completed individual tests in biology, chemistry and physics and also participated in a team event. Twenty-two teams competed this year and winners completed the tests with the most accuracy. Libertyville (Ill.) High School took first and second place in the competition.

MSOE is an independent university with about 2,500 students.
