Throughout his three years on campus, Jules has led his fellow Bucknellians in uplifting ways. He is the type of leader who strives to move beyond the typical social barriers. One example of this was his initiative this past year to bring community dinner-type events to a smaller scale on a bi-weekly basis. The intent of the events was to allow students a space to learn how to cook new dishes and then engage in a meaningful mental health/check in dialogue. While he has found a fun and creative way to produce these online during COVID-19, he plans on starting them on campus next year. This one example is a glimmer of his true roots. While he is a Posse Scholar, Common Ground Director, Active Minds President, Uptown General Manager, his passion for these are all thread together by a common theme. This theme is one of community, and that passion is driven by his desire to lift others up. There is never a task too small for Jules, and certainly never one too big. His creative and open mindset brings new people to the table. Over this past year, this attribute was reflected in his work with Active Minds, which is dedicated to Mental Health advocacy and conversations. As the President, he recruited and trained a core group of underclass student leaders for the years to come. He has empowered them to take the organization to the next level. This impactful approach defines Jules. He is willing to take on challenging leadership roles when others would turn away. His passion to invest in the Bucknell community is often most evident through the way he continues to work to better Uptown as a social space for students. He understands the importance in which an environment like Uptown can provide community for Bucknellians. I guess one could say, he has an "uplifting" spirit and "level-headed" approach, which is "scintillating" even though it is often "esoteric."
