WHAT: Morocco Medical Mission Debrief: Dr. Upadhyay will speak about her recent experience as a medical volunteer with Physicians for Peace in Morocco.

WHY: Urologist Jyoti Upadhyay, M.D., a nationally recognized expert in the field of pediatric urology, works at CHKD Surgical Group's urology practice with Dr. Charles Horton, whose father founded Physicians for Peace in 1989.
From May 1 - 8, Dr. Updhyay was part of a 17-member Physicians for Peace team in Fes, Morocco. The medical team members worked together with their Moroccan counterparts to provide clinical care and training on specialized procedures, including burn scar revisions, cleft lip reconstructions, pediatric urological reconstruction surgery, vesicovaginal fistula (VVF) repair and two heart Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass (OPCAB) operations; the team also facilitated a Physicians for Peace lecture series. Dr. Updahyay served on the team providing specialized surgery.
