At the 2007 Annual Meeting of the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay, Cambridge resident, Geri Denterlein, President of Denterlein Worldwide, was elected chairman of the board of directors of the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay.
As founder of Denterlein Worldwide Public Affairs, Geri Denterlein leads a growing company that specializes in strategic communications healthcare, real estate, financial services and public policy. Well known and highly respected in the industry, Denterlein Worldwide has advised some of the most recognizable names in Boston, including Swedish retail giant IKEA, Children's Hospital Boston, Mandarin Oriental, Boston and Tufts Health Plan.
Prior to founding Denterlein Worldwide, Ms. Denterlein spent nearly a decade as the Editorial Director at WBZ television. During her tenure at WBZ, she researched, wrote and presented on-air political analysis and was responsible for government affairs. She was also featured on WBZ-AM with the "State House Update". Ms. Denterlein's government service includes experience as the communication director for the Department of Mental Health. She also was the associate press secretary to Governor Michael S. Dukakis.
In addition to her work with the Red Cross, Ms. Denterlein is also a board member of MassINC, A Better City, Downtown Crossing Association, and a Trustee of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation.
Geri Denterlein has been vice chair of the American Red Cross of Mass Bay board of directors for the past two years. In this time, she has served tirelessly as the chair of the financial development and communications committee, continually guiding ARCMB efforts to raise critical funds and create positive messaging about our programs and services. In addition, she is a founding and current member of our Tiffany Circle, a philanthropic initiative designed to cultivate women leaders within the Red Cross. "I believe the American Red Cross is the greatest humanitarian organization in the world and I am honored to serve as the Chair of the Board of the Mass Bay Chapter. I look forward to working with leadership, staff and volunteers who are always there for those in need," said Denterlein.
