Avery Landenberger of Springport High School has been awarded one of the first Impact Scholarships from the School of Business and Economics at Michigan Technological University. He plans on majoring in finance and is the son of Teresa and Jeff Landenberger of Springport.
This scholarship program was open to incoming first-year students from Michigan who plan to enroll in the School of Business and Economics beginning in their first fall semester at Michigan Tech. Students invited to attend a scholarship event on campus participated in group activities to assess leadership skills, attended a sample business class, and were asked to write about their thoughts on entrepreneurship versus traditional employment with an established company. The visit also allowed students to meet University administrators, faculty, and students to learn more about the business programs at Michigan Tech.
