MILLERSVILLE, PA (06/03/2014)(readMedia)-- Caitlyn Olszewski, Holland, Pa., has been selected to receive the Dr. Dominick and Mrs. Helen Di Nunzio Scholarship. Olszewski will graduate from Archbishop Wood High School and will attend Millersville University of Pennsylvania this fall to study psychology.
The Dr. Dominick and Mrs. Helen D Nunzio Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman who ranks in the top 10 percent of his or her class with a combined math and critical reasoning SAT score of at least 1200. The award is made possible through the generosity of Dr. Dominick Di Nunzio and his wife Helen. Both are graduates of Bristol High School and Dr. Di Nunzio graduated from the Millersville University technology department in 1953. The scholarship is for $1,097.
In high school, Olszewski completed honors-level chemistry and several courses at an Advanced Placement (AP) level, including AP English language & composition, AP environmental science, AP American history and AP calculus. She was a member of the National Honor Society and received first or distinguished honors each year of high school.
Olszewski was involved in vocal groups and all of her high school plays in grades nine through 12. Throughout high school she was involved in volunteer work through her membership in the Community Service Corps at Archbishop Wood high school. She participated in Mini-THON as a senior and has spent time as a tutor to her peers.
