Calling All Birds

DES MOINES, IA (08/12/2017) (readMedia)-- The call of the wild rang out from Pioneer Hall during the bird calling contests held at the 2017 Iowa State Fair.

Contestants did their best imitations of chickens, roosters, ducks and turkeys to the delight of the many Fairgoers gathered.

The contest was part of "Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions" in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
