CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY (07/18/2019) (readMedia)-- Campbellsville University will host singer and songwriter, Hollyn, as part of the 6th annual Welcome Back concert series on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ransdell Chapel, 401 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. General admission will be $30. Admission will be free for Campbellsville University students by way of online ticket reservation.
Hollyn is a 22-year-old Christian artist with features on tracks from Capitol Kings, Phil Wickham, PEABOD, Chris McClarney, Steven Malcolm and more. Some of Hollyn's songs include "Alone" featuring TRU, "Good Times" and "Live Your Life."
Hollyn's most recent project, "bye, sad girl" is told over the course of six songs, woven together, to portray the emotions of what it looks like to have a broken heart.
"I often reflect on the times I've been alone ... processing alone ... those moments where you're trying to figure it all out. We have all been there, like our feelings are waves 20 feet tall, about to capsule us and never let go. In those moments, all I wanted was a hug ... for someone to look me in the eyes and let me know I was seen, I was loved, and I could make it through whatever was overwhelming me. If I wouldn't have had people who volunteered to be there for me, acknowledge my feelings, and empower me, I don't know where I'd be today," Hollyn said via her website.
