Trail to Close Effective August 20 Due to Embankment Repairs
ALBANY, NY (08/19/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York State Canal Corporation today advised of the temporary closure of a 1,000-foot section of Canalway Trail from the Exchange Street Lift Bridge to the Lake Street Bridge in the City of Lockport, Niagara County, beginning Thursday, August 20, 2009, in order for embankment repairs to be made. The embankment repairs, being conducted by Canal Corporation forces, are expected to last approximately two weeks.

The Canal Corporation appreciates the public's patience while the repairs are being made. The Canal Corporation will advise when the repairs are complete and the Canalway Trail reopens.
