Canalway Trail in Ogden To Close Temporarily

Embankment Repairs to Begin Oct. 6

A portion of the Canalway Trail in the Town of Ogden will be closed for repairs beginning Thursday, Oct. 6, the New York State Canal Corporation announced.

The trail will be closed for about two weeks for a distance of about one mile, begining west of Martha Street to east of Trimmer Road in Ogden, Monroe County.

Canal Corporation workers will place sheet pilings along the embankment to prevent seepage to the surrounding areas. The repair work will not have an impact on boat traffic.

Detour signs will be posted to direct the public to use Canal Road.

The Canal Corporation appreciates the public's patience during these repairs.
